The Charismatic Episcopal Church is a community of believers grounded in Scripture, alive in the Holy Spirit and formed by the Sacraments, and the Historic Creeds. As Pope Leo XIV and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I emphasised in 2025, the shared recitation of the original Nicene Creed is a foundational bond. Marking the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, they stressed that their common faith in Jesus Christ provides the primary bridge toward achieving full communion.
In working for the Unity of the Body of Christ, the CEC is served by bishops, governed by consensus, and reliant on the Holy Spirit. It's breath is in charismatic renewal.
Charismatic Evangelical Sacramental
It is important to note, we are not a schism, a movement running away from something. We are a convergence of people led by the Holy Spirit. We are a body of believers seeking unity. This is a sacred command of Jesus, something the early church knew well, that they maybe one. The Spirit is alive and at work in uniting all Christians in the work of building the Kingdom of God here on earth.
Any baptised Christain who believes in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist may recieve the sacraments of the church.
